At the end of the Masterclass  a scholarship of 400 Euro will be awarded to the best student.
The scholarship is donated by Mrs. Silvia Bianchera Bettinelli
in memory of the great composer Bruno Bettinelli 




Musicians of every age and nationality can take part in the course, either as students or as auditors.

The masterclass is held in Brescia by Vittorio Parisi, since 1997 Conducting teacher in the Conservatorio G.Verdi, Milan, Italy, and by Mauro Bonifacio, Score reading and History and analysis of repertoire in the Conservatorio G. Verdi, Milan, together with the dèdalo ensemble musicians.


Students admitted have to study the following scores before the beginning of the masterclass:

Pierre Boulez              Dérive I (1984), Universal

Niccolò Castiglioni     Tropi (1959), ESZ

Franco Donatoni        Arpège  (1986), Ricordi

Arnold Schoenberg    Kammersymphonie op.9 trascr. A. Webern (1909/23), Universal

The masterclass will end on February 13rd 2016 with a concert of the dèdalo ensemble in the season Sulle ali del Novecento. The concert will be conducted by the best students of the masterclass chosen by the teacher.


The admission deadline is on December 18, 2015. The application has to be sent through the e-mail address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .


The application must include a CV and a receipt from the bank (listed below) for the enrollment fee, Euro 30. This fee will only be reimbursed if the course is cancelled.

Active students will be admitted on the base of CV and video recordings on any repertoire that may have been attached or sent through any link. Results will be announced to all applicants by email within December 31st, 2015. A maximum of 10 active students will be admitted.

Structure of the masterclass

From February 5 to February 13:

5/6 Scores analysis; 7/8 Conducting technique; 9, 10, 11, 12 rehearsals with dèdalo ensemble; 13 general rehearsal and concert.

Concert season "Sulle Ali del Novecento" XXI ed. 2015: call for scores

The "Associazione dèdalo ensemble", Brescia, announces an International "call for scores" for the XXI edition of the concert season "Sulle ali del Novecento". Composers may send one or more scores. Every score must have a precise reference to the work(s) of one, and only one, of the following contemporary figurative artists related to Brescia: Silvia Beltrami, Marco La Rosa, Francesca Longhini. Their works are visible in the specific pages of this section.
Composers must write for the following instruments, involving a minimum of 4 to a maximum of 6 players, to be chosen from the following list: Flute (with Piccolo, G Flute, Bass Flute, one performer) Clarinet (E flat Clarinet, B Flat Bass Clarinet, one performer) Violin, Violoncello, Harp, Pianoforte (not prepared) , no form of amplification or electronic or computer elaboration is accepted.  
Scores must be sent by e-mail to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it , in pdf format, with a description of the relationship between the score and the related art work(s). The deadline is November 30th, 2015. Audio files are not accepted. Lenght of the piece between 6 and 12 minutes.
Selected scores, maximum one for each composer and no more than one related to each artist, will be performed in a concert in Brescia, Sancarlino Theatre, on January 2016, along with a presentation of the art work(s) that inspired the scores.
The three scores will be selected by a jury formed by dèdalo ensemble players and its musical collaborators. The jury’s decision is final.
